Day 2-May 31
Up and at em in time to see a beautiful sunrise over the lake. Today gets off to great start. I guess the pump just needed a rest because it is working perfectly this morning. Jess seems to have the knack when it comes to making coffee in a camp percolator. After breakfast we decided to take a ride over to the LBL park. The ride was nice. It is a lot like Cades Cove minus the people. We saw a herd of buffalo, a couple of wild turkeys and Jess did his usual good samaritan act and helped a turtle across the road. As you can see in the picture the turtle expressed his gratitude by relieving himself. While we were in the park we checked out a campground that would be nice if we return to this area in the future.
After a short rest and cool off time, we came to the rescue of the camp manager’s son when he drove the golf cart off the edge of the pavement. It took a little doing and I feel quite sure his folks don’t know anything about it.
Campfire tonight. We are going to fix brats and then roast marshmallows.
Brats were great! Too hot to roast marshmallows. They may have to wait until we get someplace with cooler temperatures.
P.S. The folks who had 68 reserved never showed!
