Day 42-July 10

After good-byes it was time to head for Washington for our final westward trek.  We made a short stop to see Grand Coulee Dam on the Columbia River.  This mile long dam is quite impressive as it provides hydro-electric power for the west coast.  Our original plans at this point were to turn south west to drive through the area of Washington where I lived when the company my dad worked for was building the Wanapum Dam.  Jess and I decided we would prefer to continue our quest to visit as many national parks as possible this summer instead.  That meant we would continue our trip into northern Washington after spending the night in Omak.  This was our first night to camp in a Walmart parking lot.  There were several other RVers already making themselves at home when we stopped to stock up on a few grocery items, so we decided to join the crowd and save a few bucks.
